This Week
This week has been a win some, lose some, kinda week…
WIN: Strawberry season is finally here and we are picking and eating warm, sweet, berries every day!
LOSE: Something is still eating my beans!
WIN: It stopped raining and it has even been been warm and sunny most of this week! Time to do all the laundry!
LOSE: My washing machine has lost it’s little electronic mind.
WIN: My big boy got is his much wanted swimming certificate, only four months ago he was too scared to put his face in the water!
LOSE: School swimming right at the busiest time of the year means very tired kids.
WIN: I finally read The Hunger Games – loved it, must get my hands on the second book now.
LOSE: I put off sleep in favour of reading – not clever.
WIN: I cut Noah’s hair and it looks ok!
LOSE: With his short hair cut now you can see Noah’s big green bruise and lump where he fell on his head last week.
I think I might choose to ignore the losses and chalk this week down as a win. The sunshine alone makes even the crappy things seem less… well… crappy!
I’ve seem some really winning things online this week too, so that definitely tips the balance in favour of the wins. Here are just a few winning links…
The New Day Box – a very cool idea to make this Christmas a little brighter for Melbourne women in crisis care. (Thanks to The Cut and Paste for the heads up.)
Krokotak – this funky Bulgarian blog is full of awesome crafty ideas. The folder paper Christmas tree is very nifty and so are these paper link garlands.
Flour-less Brownie Cookies – these look simple to make and delicious and bonus – gluten and nut free!
Candy Cane Chocolate Loaf – even without the candy canes this looks delish!
Tinsel Playdough – this lovely, simple, activity brings a little bit of Christmas to your play.
I’ve also been busy writing for Kidspot too – a nature treasure hunt with a free printable, a imaginative play garden and finding treasures in rainbow rice!
You can find more awesome links on my facebook page,
or follow me on pinterest.
The warm strawberries from your garden must be soooo delicious! Our little family have been battling a bad tummy bug this last week so that would be our LOSE but the weather is improving so that’s a huge WIN.
Thanks for including my Tinsel Playdough link! Lovely surprise :)
Hi
I find your writing so funny! It always puts a smile on my face especially now as we are finally coming to the end of the year with our kindy children and it is all a bit crazy!
I love your activities
Thank you so much for sharing
