“Ahoy the me hearties!”
It’s all pirates all the time at our place at the moment. Spurred on by his brother and sisters’ school production of Peter Pan, Noah can’t get enough of anything pirate related.
In an attempt to get him to take off his pirate T-shirt so I could wash it, I distracted him with some new play dough mats…
Pirate Themed Printable Play Dough Mats!
Noah’s really got his head around the whole play dough mat gig. He made lots and lots of suggestions for play dough mat designs and ideas, but in the end I narrowed it down to these four options.
A Pirate Ship
Every pirate needs a ship, don’t the sails and the forget the plank!
A Pirate Flag
Make sure you have a really scary flag to fly from your pirate ship!
A Treasure Map
You need to hide your treasure well if you are a pirate, somewhere with sinking sand, a volcano and a troll bridge should do it! (Don’t ask me how the troll came into the pirate theme, just go with it!)

A Treasure Chest
Once you’ve found your treasure chest, open it up and see what loot is inside!

If you’ve got a bit of a pirate obsession, print out the play dough mats and laminate them or cover them in self adhesive paper.
They also work great with dry erase markers or crayons, or print them in black and white on plain paper and use them as drawing prompts.
Each of these printable pirate play dough mats is an A4 sized pdf file. If you are printing on US ‘letter sized’ paper be sure to select ‘fit’ or ‘shrink to fit’ from your printer options.
The free printables at picklebums.com are for personal use only, you may not sell, share, or link directly to these files.
