I’m a very ‘Happy Chopper’

I just have to rave a little bit for a second.

Now I am the first to admit that I don’t go all ga-ga when the latest flash plastic catalogue comes out. Pretty coloured tuppaware containers are not something that really excites me all that much, despite a very good friends best efforts! I do have some select pieces and I must say that what I do have is all very awesome in a practical kind of way. Ok yeah I do own the loveliest cherry red tuppa drink bottle because hey, water really does taste better in tuppaware, but in general the flash plastic that I own is all very functional.

But when it comes to funky and being in love with flash plastic, I am having an illicit affair with my ‘Happy Chopper’.

I am sure you can chop all kinds of great things in your Happy Chopper, but me, I just chop onions. I LOVE onions… but no one else in this house likes them much, especially not raw in salads or sandwiches or on pizza… mmmm YUM! In the past going to the trouble of peeling and chopping an onion for a little bit for my sandwich was just way to much bother so I never did. Now… now I use my happy chopper… I stick in a few bits of peeled onion, whizz around the lid (that part alone is VERY satisfying) and without tears or bother I have nice fine chopped onion. The best bit is that I can chop a whole onion, just use a tiny bit of a sandwich and then just put the lid back on the Happy Chopper and wack the whole thing in the fridge, so every time I want just a little onion it is there waiting! ACE!

Oh how I love my Happy Chopper….

Please note – no one paid me for this glowing Tuppa-review… I just had to share my excitement with the world! But you know if someone wanted to pay me to review stuff I’d be more than happy! Oh and if you need any Tuppaware let me know. I know the world’s loveliest Tuppa-lady and I can hook you up with whatever kind flash plastic your heart desires!

  1. Man, this is freaky! I received my catalogue which I requested from their website only 2 days ago, which I had requested because a friend has seen some chopping thing at a party which would be good for baby food!
And I have since been considering purchasing it.
So tell me….LOL…would it turn say a meal of Spag bol or casserole or meat/veg etc into baby food, or is it only good for firm raw things? Also, any idea how it goes with fresh herbs – I know that’s how it is pictured, but is it really that good and easy with them???

  2. Carole I have no idea I have only ever done onions… hadn’t even thought about baby food, now that is a good idea! I am sure my friendly neighbourhood tuppa-lady will be here soon enough and will be able to answer your questions… if not I will hunt her down and ask, or better yet shall do some tests for you! LOL

  3. I just got my recent Tuppa order the other day, and guess what?! I’m a Happy Chopper owner too! Haven’t used it yet though! Mine’s red, what’s yours? ROFL

  4. The Happy Chopper does look good!

I admire Tupperware from afar…it looks great, and some of it is highly functional. But as far as I’m concerned, they are expensive plastic containers. I like the phrase ‘flash plastic’ though…I might even steal it! :-D

  5. Mine’s blue Annette just like the one in the link LOL

‘Flash Plastic’ I stole from my very lovely tuppa-friend so can’t take that credit.

  6. ROFL paid advertising or what lol

Another who LOVES the happy chopper gone are the days of chopping things small enough to be hidden everything goes into mine!

  7. Only just saw this… so glad you are loving your flash plastic babe!!

I have sold a number of them for use to mash/puree soft fruit/veg (steamed or fresh) for baby food and by all accounts it works excellently for that :D

And yep great for fresh herbs… just need to make sure they are dried after washing and that the bowl part is full enough that it chops against itself ikwim?

I tend to do herbsin with my onions and garlic anyways ;)
