Love Bug Play Dough – Free Printable.

This fun play dough set up is perfect as a Valentine’s Day activity, or for any time of the year.
The kids will love making cute little ‘love bugs’ and you only need a handful of items to set up this fun activity for your kids.
How to Set Up a Love Bug Play Dough Activity
We used red, bright pink, light pink, and blue playdough to set up this fun activity, but you can use whatever playdough you have on hand.
Once we had the play dough sorted I gathered a range of fun loose parts to go with it. I looked for items that could be used as legs, antennae, and facial features for bugs, as well as some fun decorations.
For our love bug play dough set we used:
- Cut up drinking straws
- Mini craft sticks (so cute!)
- Pony beads
- Large googly eyes
You could also use plastic gems, pipe cleaners, toothpicks, natural materials, buttons, or any other interesting items you have on hand.
To make our play dough bugs even more fun, I made some printable play dough accessories. I made some heart antennae, heart shaped wings, and a few extra hearts just for fun. I printed and laminated the accessories and added them to the play dough set up. They are easy to push into the playdough to make adorable little bugs.
The kids had so much fun making some cute play dough love bugs!
