Valentine’s Day is not really a big event here in Australia, it’s mostly about romance, but I try to make sure I use it as a reminder to simply do nice things for people I care about, and a super easy way to remind your kids (or anyone) that you love them, is with a little note!
These free printable Valentines lunch box notes are perfect for lunch boxes, but you could also stick them around the house for people to find, or even use them to leave random kindness notes in public places. I want to put a ‘You are loved’ one in a library book, with a little note to pass it on!
Use the Valentine’s lunch box notes with the pre-printed messages or use the blank ones to add your own message, or even add a fun lunch joke to really make them smile.

Why Send Lunch Box Notes?
I found a note crumpled up next to a lone sandwich crust in the bottom of the lunch box, and I decided it was time to stop sending lunch box notes. I had been thinking for a while that it probably wasn’t ‘cool’ to put notes in my 9 year olds school lunch box, and while I was sad that those days were over, I accepted it, and moved on.
Then a few weeks later, as I was making dinner and he was packing his lunch box for the next day he said “why don’t you send me notes in my lunch any more?”
Wait, what?
I gently explained that I thought he might be ‘too old’ for that and that it might be embarrassing for him, and that that was ok. And just as gently he explained to me that yes, sometimes it was a little embarrassing, but he just read the note privately and then quickly scrunched it up so no one saw…and he missed them.
Sending an occasional little note in your child’s lunch box can be an easy way to connect with them, or a simple way to give a little confidence boost to a child who is struggling. Even if you think your child might be too old for a cute lunch box note, a little hand written message, even if it comes home scrunched up, can be meaningful to your child.

This set of free printable Valentine’s lunch box notes comes with two pages.
There is a page of notes with sayings on them (because it’s hard enough to make school lunches without having to think up cute things to write on a note!), and also a page with lines so you can write your own personalised messages if you wish.
This printable is an A4 sized pdf file, you will need a pdf reader such as adobe acrobat to open it. It will fit to print on US ‘letter sized’ paper, just be sure to select ‘fit’ or ‘shrink to fit’ from your printer options to allow for printer margins.

Hi Kate
your lunchbox notes are gorgeous, and perhaps that’s where I went wrong with my disastrous attempt at my first ever lunchbox note. Boring biro on a bit of plain paper. Maybe I would have got a better response with your bunny printable. Too cute!
As long as you note that these printable lunch box notes do not come with a satisfaction guarantee… ;)
Maybe you have to go out to impress your little one, did you see these incredible hand drawn master pieces??? http://justsomethingimade.com/2008/08/back-to-school-600-am-artwork/

Thanks for sharing. I have been looking for something to jazz up the notes in my daughter’s lunch box these are perfect. I don’t even have a color printer and they are cute in B&W as well! Thanks!
love love this page…..
Kate these are fantastic, thank you! My son started at a new kindy today and I now have to make a packed lunch 3 days a week. His previous kindy provided all meals so this is a whole new challenge for me. He recently started using the phrase “I love you THIS much!” and stretching out his arms, so your adorable bunny is perfect! It’s going in the lunch box tomorrow. Thank you!
These are too cute Kate. Love leaving love notes in lunch boxes (and hubby’s wallet or esky).
