How to Make a Reindeer Card
You can whip up this reindeer Christmas card in minutes by simply printing it out, cutting, folding, and gluing on a nose. Or you can spend time colouring or painting the reindeer to make a really special card.
To make the reindeer card you’ll need:
- Free printable template (scroll down for the link to download)
- Matte photo paper or light cardstock to print the card on.
- Plain paper to print the envelope.
- Scissors and glue/double sided tape
- Coloured pencils or paint (optional)
- Something fun to use as the reindeers nose.
To make the reindeer card start by downloading the free printable, cut out and fold the card, then cut out and fold the envelope.
He is very cute just as he is, but this reindeer needs a funny nose!
We made a mini pom pom for our reindeer’s nose!
Using a regular fork, lay a small piece of wool between the middle tines – this is tie your pom pom together with later. Now wrap some wool around the fork. You don’t need much! Using the piece of wool around your wrapped wool really tightly and slip it off the fork.
Now you just need to snip the looped ends and give your pom pom a good haircut. Snip snip all around your pom pom till the wool is short and even and you have a perfect nose for your reindeer.
He looks so cute with his red pom pom nose!
But what else could you use as a nose for your reindeer card?
We tried a few different things…
We tried a wooden counter, a large sequin, a curled up pipe cleaner, a button and a few other funny things as our reindeer’s nose!
Or you could simply colour him in!
Free Printable Reindeer Card Template and Envelope
This reindeer card template comes with a print and fold card, and a matching red and white spotty envelope.
It’s best to print the reindeer card on light cardstock or matte photo paper. Print the matching envelope on regular printer paper.
This printable is an A4 sized pdf file, you will need a pdf reader such as adobe acrobat to open it. It will fit to print on US ‘letter sized’ paper, just be sure to select ‘fit’ or ‘shrink to fit’ from your printer options to allow for printer margins.
