I came up with a Christmas ‘find and colour’ activity to buy myself a little peace before Christmas. And today I printed out some summer find and colour activity sheets in a vain hope to stop my boys bickering and to keep my sanity intact for a few more minutes!
For a few precious moments this afternoon there was peace.
The boys were busy finding swimsuits with spots, sea gulls and beach balls. Even the big girls had fun racing each other to see who could find all the suns first.
And me? I just just breathed in the sound of my kids not fighting for a little while!
I love the simplicity of these find and colour activities. There is a whole heap of summery images and a list (we included the images with list to help beginning readers) of things to find and colour!
You can either follow the list or simply ask the kids to find and colour whatever you can see – “colour one crab orange, colour two boats green.” etc. Or race each other and see who can find all 9 beach balls first!
If you need a little break from the insanity you can download the summer find and colour activity sheet here.
This printable is an A4 sized pdf file. You will need a pdf reader such as adobe acrobat to open it. If you are printing on US ‘letter sized’ paper be sure to select ‘fit’ or ‘shrink to fit’ from your printer options.
Please remember that the printables at picklebums.com are for personal use only. You may not sell, share, or link directly to these files.
I hope this fun, free printable, summer themed find and colour activity page gives you a moment or two of peace and quiet like it did for me!!

I loved your Christmas Find and Colour. I used it in my son’s Christmas class party. I will be helping with his Valentine’s Day party. Will you be making a Valentines version of Find and Colour?
Valentines Day is not a big thing here in Australia, so I hadn’t planned to… but I might be able to whip something up for you. When do you all start doing Valentines activities??
Valentine activities can begin February 1. If you do a Valentines Find and Color I would use it as early as February 8 but definitely on February 14. Once I realized you were in Australia it made sense why you were doing a Summer Find and Color. :) Thanks!
Wow, I love this Kate! Thanks for sharing. Perfect for the 41 degree day we’re heading for in Newcastle today!!
Thank you for making another! I’m glad you added an image as an example next to each instruction at the top. That will be helpful for emerging readers.
That’s what I was hoping… and maybe helpful if my ‘Australian’ english doesn’t always translate to American english LOL
This is great! I’m printing one for my tired Mr 6 now and can use it when I go back to work with my OT kids. Thanks.
Hi, I would like to use your summer fun printable for our library’s Summer Reading Program, It’s so cute and challenging! It would be printed out and given to children who visit this summer. Would you consider giving me permission to do this? Thank you.
Yes! You can use any of my free printables, in printed format, as a teacher with your class, or non-profit group. Please don’t share or distribute the digital file, or link directly to the pdf and I’d love it if you’d tell people where you found it if you find it useful. Thanks for taking the time to ask.
I loved the Christmas find and color printable and so did my 6 year-old daughter. I’m definitely going to put this summer find and color away for her to do once it’s finally summer here. We live in Alaska so that won’t be until around June. It’s still full on winter here of course. Too bad our seasons don’t match up at all but If you happen to make any for your fall or spring, or even winter seasons I’ll put them away for when ours roll around haha!
I might make an Autumn/Fall one soon since our days will start turning colder here in a few weeks! Eventually I’ll have all the seasons, so you’ll only have to wait a year to get the ones you need at the right time for you! LOL
thanks your file
Thank you so much! This will come in handy the last day of school which is 5 days away! I’m not counting or anything, lol….
Thanks for sharing! My daughter loved this!
This is so cute! I know I will use it during the first week of school! Where did you get your adorable clipart? I love making printable too, but sometimes I have the hardest time finding the clipart I want to use. Thank you for the awesome freebie!
I draw most of my clip art myself.
