Twelve Delicious Bars and Slices

Here in Australia, we call them slices, but I’ve discovered that most Americans have no idea what I am talking about when I ask for their best ‘slice recipe’.

It seems Americans call them bars, but whatever you call them, they are delicious and I need to make a whole bunch of them for a school event this week, so here are twelve of our favourite slice and/or bar recipes!

  1. In the Canadian prairies, we cut them into small squares and call them ” Dainties”. Along with small tarts and finger sandwiches we serve them at bridal and baby showers. Our local favorites are Nanaimo squares. peanut butter confetti squares and Butter tarts.

  2. I live in an international community and most people were confused when I said I was making a slice. The brits and some americans call them “tray bakes” and others call them “bars”. I don’t care what they call them, as long as they share, especially “7 layer bars”.
