I didn’t want to get up the other morning.

I knew I wasn’t going to want to get up when I dragged myself to bed at around 1am. So Night-owl Me did Morning Me a favour and left this set up for my kids…

A huge, communal, doodle picture to colour and add to.

I taped to bits of paper together and used a sharpie to draw random squiggles and scribbles. Then I dumped a variety of markers on the table and added a post it note that said ‘colour’.

It’s such a simple idea and something all four kids can do together without killing each other.

This, combined with a huge bucket of Lego at the other end of the table and a few post it note suggestions of what else they could do and a request to help Noah get some breakfast bought me a good hour’s extra dozing before I had to drag myself out of bed, and lasted until we packed it up for lunch.

      1. Abc 2 saved my bacon when I was pregnant with my middle child and had 3 year old twins… ah the good old days, at the moment the four of them fight over the TV so it’s not as magic as it once was!

    1. My little girl tends to sleep until about 7 which is lovely. Buuut my little boy gets up waaaaaay too early so I am always trying to think of things to keep him engaged and quiet in the mornings. He will LOVE this. I’m going to set one out tomorrow morning and see how he likes it.
