It is a foundation activity for all other artistic activities, and it’s also a really easy way to get your kids involved in art. Benefits of Drawing for Kids

Drawing is good fun, but it is also a great learning activity that covers a wide range of developmental areas.

When kids draw they are:

  • working fine motor skills
  • practicing pre-writing skills
  • practicing pre-reading skills
  • working on language development
  • problem solving
  • practicing observations skills
  • expressing their ideas
  • using their imagination
  • being creative
  • practicing logical thinking
  • And so much more!

Drawing is a great activity for integrated learning as you you can easy include a wide range of interests and learning topics into a drawing activity. Whatever your child is interested in, or whatever area your class is studying there is a drawing idea or activity that will enhance that topic.

  1. I have been visiting this post every day since you published it. My daughter loves nothing more than drawing and it’s been fun to provide her with different invitations.

    I even found some chalkboard contact paper and thought I could use those on some blocks instead of paint (because we don’t have any).
