These fun free printable Christmas treat toppers are a quick and easy way to personalise candy canes or other candy gifts for your kids to give to their friends this holiday season.
Do your kids give Christmas cards or little gifts to their friends? Or perhaps to their whole class?
This was definitely not a thing when I was a kid, and I am not sure how I feel about my kids coming home from school with piles chocolate and candy canes.
It’s lovely to encourage our kids to be thinking of others and giving. And it’s the end of the school year here too, so giving a friend a little something to say ‘thanks for being a great friend, see you next year’ is a really kind thing to do, but it can also become quite overwhelming.
If you’ve got multiple kids who all want to give something to every child in their class, it can end up being a lot of cards and gifts, which can cost lots of money too.
In a bid to embrace the spirit of giving, but also not creating a huge, expensive, time consuming project for myself or my kids, we try to keep this tradition simple. I buy a pack of mini candy canes (affiliate link), and print some cute Christmas treat toppers to add to them.
Free Printable Penguin Christmas Treat Toppers
To make it as easy as possible for my kids to give a little Christmas treat to their friends, I created some fun, free printable, Christmas treat toppers.
I used the cute Christmas penguins I drew, who also feature on these cute printable Christmas gift tags, to make this project even more fun. There is a cute Christmas penguin on the front, and space to write who the treat is for, and who it is from on the back.
These cute little printable treat toppers are the perfect size for the top of a small candy cane, and they also fit nicely on a Freddo frog, or one of those yummy chocolate popping candy elves (do you have them where you live?). They are easy stapled or taped to a whole range of little treats which makes them perfect for a fun and simple gift that is quick and easy to make.

This printable is an A4 sized pdf file, you will need a pdf reader such as adobe acrobat to open it. If you are printing on US ‘letter sized’ paper be sure to select ‘fit’ or ‘shrink to fit’ from your printer options.
Please remember that the printables at picklebums.com are for personal use only, you may not sell, share, or link directly to these files.
To make these cute Christmas treat, simply print as many copies of the page as you need, cut out each topper, fold in hale, write on the back, staple to the top of your treats and you’re ready to go!

I know what you mean, the whole candy cane thing is very overwhelming. I worry about the kids teeth as many of them tuck into the goodies as soon as they arrive at school in the morning!
This year I found Christmas pencils very cheap at Spotlight so we attached those to cards instead. I think the other mums appreciated them!
