This easy paper Halloween garland made with your Cricut machine is the perfect last minute Halloween craft, and it makes a gorgeous Halloween decoration too.

This project is a collaboration with Cricut – I was gifted a Cricut Maker and accessories to try out. This post contains affiliate links.

I am such a sucker for a fun garland, I just love them. With a few inexpensive supplies, and not much crafty skill, you can whip up a gorgeous decoration for any holiday or season. Garlands look gorgeous hung from your mantle, or hung around a room, or even strung around your front door.

This simple paper Halloween garland only uses a handful of craft supplies that you probably already have on hand, and if you have a Cricut or other cutting machine you an make it quickly and easily. If you don’t have a cutting machine you can easily do something similar by purchasing pre-cut paper shapes instead of cutting them yourself.

Get the kids involved and have fun making this cute, and not too scary, Halloween garland.

How to Make a Paper Halloween Garland with Your Cricut Maker.

This paper garland is quick and easy to make, and simple enough that the kids can join in with the craft.

To make this easy Halloween garland you’ll need the following supplies:

  • Black, white and orange Coloured paper or light cardstock
  • Twine, string or ribbon
  • Clear Tape
  • Cricut Maker (or other Cricut cutting machine)
  • Cricut light grip mat.
  • Cricut Design Space account (free to sign up) and computer, ipad or smartphone.

Once you have gathered your supplies, open Cricut Design Space and open a new canvas. Click on the images icon to the image catalogue and type ‘pumpkin’ into the search bar, then scroll through the images till you see on your want to use and insert that image onto your canvas. Resize the image to make them whatever size you like – my shapes were all approx 6cms wide. Next duplicate the image as many times as you need to.

There is no need to arrange each duplicated image perfectly on your canvas. They can all be over lapping on your canvas but when you click ‘Make it’ Design Space will automatically arrange them neatly to get as many cut from your material with as little waste as possible. Just make sure to change your material size from the drop down menu to match the size of paper you are cutting from!

If you’ve been using Design Space for a while you probably already know that tip, but I only recently figured it out and I wish I’d know earlier, so I’ve made a quick video below to show you how it. works.

Once you have cut out all your pumpkins, repeat the process, searching for and adding other Halloween images. We used Pumpkin #M79E80C1, Spider web #M8B60A3B, and Ghost #M8997D69, all available via Cricut Access on Design Space.

Now you have all your shapes cut out it’s time to make a garland!

Lay your twine or string out on a flat surface, arrange your paper cut outs in the order you want them, and simply tape them to the twine, and you are done! So quick and easy!

The Cricut Maker cuts paper and cardstock quick and easily and you can cut intricate designs like spider webs without any fuss or bother.

You could add all kinds of fun Halloween shapes to your garland such as witches hats, skulls, spiders, cauldrons or other spooky shapes!

Once you are done you just need to decide where you are going to hang your Halloween garland!
