20+ Easy Autumn Family Meals
When the days start getting noticeably shorter, and the park is covered in acrons, I know it’s time to give up my vice like grip on summer and accept that Autumn is very much here.
I am never happy to give up the lazy days of summer, but one way we make the transition from summer into Autumn a little easier is by changing our menu planning and adding in some delicious Autumn family meals.
There are some meals we eat all year round, but many of the meals on our meal plan are seasonal.
Planning seasonal meals is a good way to keep our meal plan from getting boring, it fits better with our lifestyle, and it’s a way to find something positive about the end to the long summer days. Hot apple and oat pancakes for breakfast almost makes up for it being a bit cold in the mornings!
Eating seasonally is also more budget friendly. It’s cheaper and easier to buy fruit and veggies that are in season, and to use what we can grow in the veggie garden at this time of the year. So in Autumn we eat lots of apples and pears, given to us by friends with fruit trees, and are making the last of the summer tomatoes into sauce for the freezer.
