We are not vegetarian, but we love a good meatless meal for lots of reasons – they are healthy, budget friendly and they taste great.

There are lots of vegetarian dinners on our meal plan these days, but it’s taken a while to come up with a list of vegetarian meals that work for our various likes and dislikes.

These 15 kid-friendly vegetarian dinners are our favourite meatless options. They are all easy to make, with no fancy ingredients, just delicious, family friendly, vegetarian options.

15 Kid-friendly Vegetarian Dinner Ideas - meatless meals that the kids might actually eat!

This is one of the first successful meat-less meals I ever made – a simple lentil based bolognese sauce.

These Felafel Style Veggie Burgers are my kids all time favourite, mine too.

We add Mexican seasoning to this easy Zucchini Rice from Damn Delicious.

With a simple tomato based pasta sauce this Zucchini Bake is easy and delicious.

This Vegetable Ramen from The Woks of Life is a new addition to our menu and it’s easy to change it up and use whatever veggies you like.

Baked potatoes are another easy veggie meal where everyone can pick their own toppings. We love these broccoli and cheddar twice baked potatoes from Baker By Nature.

The broad beans (fava beans) in this Tomato and Broad Bean Pasta make it extra good for you, and they are really easy to grow too.

This creamy tomato and spinach pasta from Budget Bytes is one of my favourite meatless dinners.

My little one likes these Veggie Nuggets better than shop bought chicken nuggets!

Good old fried rice is just as good without meat. Try this very veggie fried rice recipe from Cooking Classy.

I can’t tell you how much I love these corn fritters, but my kids prefer zucchini fritters, so we usually make both!

I’m trying to perfect my lentil curry at the moment, and so far these red curry lentils from Pinch of Yum is the best recipe I’ve tried.

Crust-less quiche is my ‘I don’t have anything in the fridge’ dinner, since we have our own chickens and always have eggs.

Just take the minced meat out of our easy Chili recipe and you’ve got a meat-less version that is great for tacos, enchiladas, burritos and more.

It’s easy to take the meat out of this quick pizza pasta bake too. You’d be surprised how many of your favourite family meals will work well without the meat, substitute with red lentils or beans if needed, but often you don’t have to add anything at all.

What’s your favourite kid-friendly vegetarian dinner?

I’d love to add some more meatless ideas to our meal plan. If you’ve got some great ideas for kid-friendly vegetarian dinners, share a link or the recipe in the comments below.

Sweet potato chickpea patties with lots of sauteed onion and capsicum, black bean burgers, and Sriracha ramen (non-spicy for the kiddo) are our current vegetarian meal favourites right now.
They all USED to be toddler-approved, but he’s now trying to win “worlds most picky eater” award, so… I’m going to have to try the veggie nuggets! They sound yummy!

Oh the sweet potato and chick pea patties sound great!!
I’m sure your toddler will come around… my kids all went through a picky stage and only one out of four stayed that way so the odds are in your favour! LOL
